Our topside comes from our 100% Pasture for Life certified beef, raised on a pasture-based diet here at Lighthouse Farm.
A classic roasting joint, topside is lean, tender and full of proper beef flavour. It’s a great choice for a traditional Sunday roast and, because it’s naturally lean, benefits from being cooked carefully rather than left in the oven for too long.
Beef is naturally high in protein and provides important nutrients including iron, zinc and vitamin B12.
For a great roast, season the joint well, brown the outside first if you have time, then roast until cooked to your liking. Let it rest properly before carving and slice thinly across the grain for the most tender result.
Serve with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, seasonal vegetables and plenty of gravy.
And if there’s any left, cold topside makes brilliant roast beef sandwiches the next day — arguably one of the best reasons to buy a slightly bigger joint.

Pasture for Life diet
As certified Pasture for Life, cows and sheep are grazing a diverse mix of different grasses, herbs and clovers from healthy soils. Rich in Omega 3, this varied and natural diet, results in meat with higher omega 3, than meat from farming systems supplementing with more concentrate feeds. PFL certified meat is also higher in CLA, which is conjugated Linoleic acid with research suggesting it has protective properties against cancer, heart health, and weight gain.
Vitamin A / Vitamin E / iron
100% PFL meat has been shown to be higher in vitamin A, have more of the antioxidant vitamin E, and iron levels can sometimes be higher. These nutrients are linked to better heart health, reduced inflammation, and improved overall wellness.
